Fees
Application fees

- There is no application fee to apply for a place at Kaunas Jurgis Dobkevičius Progymnasium. Applications for 2026/27 are submitted through the Kaunas municipal admissions system; the school operates as a municipal (Kauno miesto) budgetary institution.

Tuition fees by year group (per term / per year)

- There is no tuition fee for study in the school's formal programmes (pre‑school, 1–8 classes). Instruction in state and municipal general education schools is provided free of charge; no per‑term or per‑year tuition is charged for compulsory primary and lower‑secondary education.

- Note: Fees may apply for optional, extra services or non‑formal activities (see “Other costs” below).

Billing schedule and payment terms

- For paid school catering (where a pupil is not eligible for free meals), meal charges are applied per attended meal/day and are organised under the school's pupil‑feeding rules and municipal regulations. Payment timing and billing for meals follow the procedures set out in the school's "Mokinių maitinimo organizavimo tvarkos aprašas" and the national/municipal rules governing school catering (applications and monthly accounting are used). Parents pay for paid meals by the days the pupil attends, in line with those rules.

- Charges for any optional paid non‑formal activities, instrument lessons provided by the external music school, sports club training or externally‑provided services are billed according to the activity provider's or the school's separate arrangements; the amount and cadence (per session, monthly, per term) are set by the organiser.

Boarding fees (if applicable)

- The progymnasium does not operate a boarding/dormitory service. The school's published services list does not include any boarding facility; the school functions as a day school with after‑school (all‑day) provision where stated.

Other costs and typical additional fees

- Meals: Paid meal options are available for pupils not covered by free‑meal eligibility; free meal provision is organised for eligible age groups and social categories. Specific paid menu and service arrangements are published in the school's catering materials.

- Uniform: Wearing the school uniform is mandatory by school council decision. Uniform items (jackets, trousers, shirts, skirts, jumpers, polos with the school emblem, etc.) are sold through the vendor 8 TO GO (on‑line and at a physical shop). Parents should budget for purchase of the required uniform items. Exact retail prices are set by the vendor.

- Non‑formal / extracurricular activities: The school operates many clubs and after‑school groups (languages, arts, technology, sports, music and others). Instrumental instruction delivered by the external I‑st music school and some sports or external club activities commonly involve separate fees set by those providers.

- School trips, camps, special projects and some extra programmes may carry separate participant fees; those fees are set per activity and billed by the organiser.

Refund information

- Refunds, credits or billing adjustments for paid catering and for paid extra activities are governed by the school's meal‑management rules and by the terms set by the activity provider or the school for each paid service. The school's "Mokinių maitinimo organizavimo tvarkos aprašas" and applicable municipal/national regulations define how meal entitlements, cancellations and accounting are handled. For other paid services (music school, clubs, trips), refund and cancellation terms are those published for that specific activity.

Fee payment options

- The school and its catering provider organise payments for paid services under the formal procedures referenced in the school's service rules. Specific payment methods (bank transfer, invoice handling, on‑line card payment or similar) for each paid service are implemented by the service provider or by the school/municipality where applicable and are stated in the provider's or activity's billing documents.

Brief summary of details not publicly itemised on school pages

- The progymnasium is a Kaunas municipal day school and charges no tuition for 1–8 classes. Specific per‑meal prices, uniform retail prices and the precise payment methods and refund rules for each paid service are set in the school's catering/menu documents, by the uniform vendor and by activity providers. Those per‑item price figures and the detailed payment‑by‑term or per‑term billing tables are not published as consolidated numeric tuition tables on the school's public pages; the school's catering documents and activity notices contain the operational billing details.

Admissions

Admissions

1. The school uses a two-stage admissions process for students entering the preschool program, the primary program, and the first part of the basic education program. Stage I runs March 15–May 27; applications are submitted in the information system or at the school. Stage I results are announced on June 5. Stage II runs June 8–August 15 for remaining places; Stage II results are announced by August 20. 2. First-stage criteria apply to priority groups, including children with severe mobility or support-function disabilities and children whose at least one parent has such disabilities, when the school assigned catchment cannot accommodate them. Residence in the school's catchment area or guardians of children in care living in the catchment also receive priority. From these groups, priority is given to adoptive children and wards; children with disabilities; residents of municipal social housing; siblings already enrolled in the school; children of teachers; children of employees covered by the municipality's specialist-attraction program; and those who have lived the longest in the catchment. If places are limited within the catchment and applicants share the same criteria and registration date, priority goes to those living closest on foot to the school; if still tied, enrollment is handled by directing the applicant to the nearest school with available vacancies offering the same programs. 3. Second-stage criteria apply to remaining vacancies for pupils living in the catchment or outside it, using the same broad categories of equality (including single parents; children with disabilities; twins and other multiples; large families; siblings; those previously enrolled or educated by the school; children of teachers; diplomatic or military families). If places remain, preference is given to those living closest on foot to the school. 4. Bilingual class admissions: additional applications for bilingual classes (5–8) are accepted until April 17 via priemimas@dobkevicius.lt. For bilingual admissions, inquiries may be directed to priemimas@dobkevicius.lt. 5. For questions about admissions, contact priemimas@dobkevicius.lt. The school applies municipal admission rules and uses the interactive catchment map to determine priority.
