In a small mountain village, in 1988, a nursery named 'Home of the Seven Dwarfs' was born. Mr. and Mrs. El Chaer cared for children so much that they soon expanded the establishment and moved to Roumieh. There, in 1997 a new chapter began: the nursery opened its doors, followed by elementary, then middle school, and finally in 2008-2009 the secondary classes. Lycée Charlemagne is not only a school but a true educational family where the well-being and success of each student are at the heart of all attention. Since its foundation, it has remained faithful to its mission: to offer quality education, promote the values of Francophonie, and guarantee an environment where everyone can grow and flourish, regardless of talents or challenges.

Community
Since 2009, alumni form a living, loyal, and supportive network. Alumni in Lebanon or abroad stay connected, share their successes, and help each other in important moments. The association transmits to new generations the spirit of excellence and fraternity that characterizes the lycée through meetings, projects, and testimonials. From maternelle (kindergarten) through baccalaureat (high school), the school provides education across all levels. The primary section was homologated by the French Ministry of Education in 2004–2005, and the Lycée Charlemagne was homologated at the primary level in 2006. 1. General steps of the enrollment procedure: The application form can be filled online or downloaded via LYCEE-CHARLEMAGNE_Demande-Inscription_2026-2027.pdf. The dossier must be submitted in person at the Lycée Charlemagne secretariat in Roumieh, or transmitted by email to administration@lyceecharlemagne.org. Required documents include the child's civil-status form and copy; four passport photos; health booklet (vaccinations included); school reports for the last two years (for levels above Petite Section); civil-status extract (original) or identity card; two passport photos; medical form (+ medical report); passport copy for foreign nationals; a certified attestation from the Ministry of Education in Baabda and the transcript of the previous school (from Grande Section to Première); Lebanese brevet results for Seconde and Première; any definitive admission for classes CP to 2nde will be preceded by an evaluation test; for maternelle, an interview will precede definitive admission.
