Admissions

Admissions

The school uses September 15 as the age reference date. Pre KG is 2 years 6 months; KG1 is 3 years 6 months; KG2 is 4 years 6 months; Grade 1 is 5 years 6 months; Grade 2 is 6 years 6 months; etc. The school gives priority to siblings and children of graduates. An assessment test and personal interview are scheduled according to seats availability. An initial application form is filled at the reception area. The applicant will be notified of the assessment date and time; if the applicant misses the appointment without notifying the school in advance the assessment will not be rescheduled. The school notifies the applicant of the assessment results within three working days of the assessment date. Parents are required to come personally to complete and submit the application form and provide the required documents. Admission in Pre KG requires toilet training by the first day of the school year. Admission in KG requires the student to answer all questions during the test and to be able to tend to their personal needs without adult assistance. Admission for primary, middle and high school requires passing the entrance assessment for Arabic, English and Mathematics and a personal interview with the principal. After passing the entrance assessment, the parent pays KD 100 as registration fees to reserve the seat. Registration fees cannot be retrieved or transferred to another student (MOPE rules) and the first installments shall be calculated as part of the tuition fees. A certificate of no objection will be issued to confirm acceptance to transfer from the former school. The student file needs to be submitted along with the medical file within one week from notification of acceptance. The school does not accept students with special needs or those who suffer from learning or mental disability or severe psychological problems. In MOPE rules, the presence of the father in person is required to continue the registration process, except in case of the death of the father; the legal guardian needs to provide the father's death certificate along with the guardianship certificate. The required documents include a copy of the birth and vaccination certificates, a copy of civil IDs for student and parents, a copy of the nationality certificates (for Kuwaitis only), a copy of passports for the students and parents (for non-Kuwaitis), six recent pictures for the student, and a copy of the last two report cards if transferring from another school; as the report cards issued from outside Kuwait, it needs to be attested from the Kuwait Embassy & the Foreign Affairs. The assessments results will be communicated to the parent within three working days from the submission date. After acceptance, the student file should be transferred from the former school and submitted with the transfer certificate, financial clearance, academic certificates and the medical file; if the requested documents are not submitted, the school has the right not to include the student's name in the class list.
