Founded in 1903 by Monseigneur Charles Dumaz, it offers education from kindergarten to terminale. It is a member of the AEFE network and is homologated by the French Ministry of National Education, certifying that teaching conforms to French requirements, programs, and rules of organization, and it also provides high-level instruction in Italian language and literature. The school operates on three sites—Strohl-Fern, Patrizi, and Malpighi. The Patrizi site has been owned by the Lycée since 1921, and Malpighi joined the complex in the late 1980s. After a temporary location at Palazzo Ricci Paracciani, the school settled permanently in October 1920 in a villa at Via di Villa Patrizi, first rented and then purchased in 1921.
