Stella Maris School began from a simple idea by a 52-year-old woman to realize her late husband's dream of founding a home for orphans. On May 15, 1995, Drg. Strela and her husband Lukman founded Stella Maris School, which initially offered Playgroup, TK, and SD. It started in a shop-house in BSD Sector XIV, Tangerang; two years later a branch opened in Gading Serpong to meet rising demand, and SMP was added.
