History
The story begins in the mid-1990s with a Bandung church seeking to bless Indonesia by establishing a school that would be a light to the nations (Isaiah 49:6). Church members started a homeschool co-op in 2003 to educate their children from a biblical worldview. Cahaya Bangsa Classical School became a formal school in 2004. Today CBCS has 752 students from preschool through twelfth grade. CBCS aims to be a model for Indonesia's education system and to partner with families to train children to love God, serve others, and live with integrity, holiness, and courage.

Community
The CBCS community centers on a Christ-centered learning environment and involves families through school events and worship. Community events include Indonesia Week, Reading Month, and the school's 20th Anniversary, as well as a Monthly Newsletter and Easter Chapel.
