History

SERAN SCHOOL began in 1989 with founders Ms. Emily Carson and Patricia Klein de Blanco, and a family philosophy focused on excellence, moral principles and values. The school serves two sections per grade from the Early Stimulation Program for three-year-olds to the graduating 12th grade, including an Early Stimulation two-year-old toddler program. It was founded with 52 students in an old house in the Rio de Piedras neighborhood of San Pedro Sula. It was accredited by the Association of Bilingual Schools of Honduras (ABSH) in 1992, added a seventh grade in 1995, and inaugurated the current school building in 1998, followed by the high school building in 1999, with ongoing expansion from 2000 onward. The first high school graduating class occurred in 2001; Educational Leadership was created in 2011; and AdvancED Candidate Status for accreditation was achieved in 2015.
