Experimental General Lyceum of the University of Macedonia is a small secondary school in Neapolis, Thessaloniki within the Strebenióti Camp complex. Founded in 2000, it began operations in 2001-02 with six classes and now serves about 150 students with 16 teachers. The General Lyceum is a candidate for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, with plans to implement the IB DP in prototype and experimental lyceums from the 2026-2027 school year onward. Its facilities include a library, information technology laboratories, physics and chemistry laboratories, an auditorium, and a gym shared with other schools in the complex. IT labs offer teleconferencing, and computers in one lab were upgraded in 2012 through a Stavros Niarchos Foundation grant. The school maintains a connection with the University of Macedonia to foster a unified educational community. It participates in student competitions and arranges visits to universities, and a 15-member student council supports school life in 2025-26.
