Introduction

International School Hannover Region (ISHR) is an independent, non‑profit IB school serving ages 3–18. It offers the full International Baccalaureate continuum from Kindergarten through Grade 12, including the Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme. Instruction is in English, with German language and other subjects integrated as appropriate. ISHR is accredited by CIS and NEASC and is a member of AGIS. The campus sits on a green site near central Hanover, with a main administration building, four wings of classrooms, a well‑stocked library, science laboratories, ICT infrastructure, a dedicated Kindergarten, a dining hall with a professional kitchen, and music, drama rooms and an auditorium; plus on‑site sports facilities. In 2013 a new secondary centre opened and a gym and visitors' gallery were added to the PE Wing, with the main sports hall renovated. The school emphasizes Creativity, Activity and Service; clubs include MUN, Strategy Game Club, Robotics, Drama, and Yearbook. Billing schedule and payment terms
- Plan 1 (single payment): full annual payment due by August 10; a 2% reduction applies when paid by that date.
- Plan 2 (two instalments): 70% due by August 10 and 30% due by February 10.

Admissions

Admissions
1. Submit completed application form with copies of the student's previous report cards and any other requested information. The submission initiates the admissions process and is considered for feasibility. 2. If the application is considered feasible, the family will be invited for an interview with the Head of Section and other pertinent members of the team. The interview assesses the fit with ISHR's programs and culture. 3. Where applicable, the student will be invited to school to complete the placement tests. In overseas cases, placement tests will be sent to the student's present school for completion. 4. If the application is successful, parents will receive a letter of confirmation, a school contract, and an invoice for the admission fee. 5. A place only becomes guaranteed after the admission fee has been paid and the school contract has been signed and sent back. 6. Placement: Students will be placed in their age appropriate class with the orientation cut-off date for placement being September 30th. In very rare cases where a placement test or the probation period reveals that a student would be better placed in another grade level to best serve their emotional or academical welfare then ISHR reserves the right to make a more appropriate placement in an adjacent grade level. All new students have a 6-month probationary period. 7. Conditions of Acceptance: ISHR is actively committed to admitting and supporting a diverse student body. We practice a non-discriminatory policy in all school-administered programs and will not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, gender, national and ethnic origin, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation or gender preference in any of its admissions and educational policies, programs, and practices. We accept students whom ISHR can support emotionally and academically in our curricular context; exceptions can be made for overseas students where fitting criteria exist. 8. IB Diploma Programme (11th and 12th Grade): The IB Diploma Programme is a rigorous prescribed academic curriculum. Although non-selective in admissions, ISHR reserves the right to not admit a student into the Diploma Programme if the school cannot adequately support their emotional and academic welfare; some subject combinations may not be offered if not in demand. 9.
