Admissions
1. Parent information meeting: We organize a meeting for parents whose children will start next year at the Franco-German Elementary School of Stuttgart-Sillenbuch. This meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 7:00 PM in the elementary school canteen. We will present the functioning of the school, school hours, after-school times, the midday break, and the various available daycare options. We will also have the opportunity to answer your questions.

2. Medical visit (CP or 1. Klasse): The medical visit is mandatory for entry into CP/1. Klasse and is organized by the Gesundheitsamt. It aims to meet your child to examine general development and language acquisition. Regardless of your child's birth date or the date you receive the invitation from the Gesundheitsamt, this visit is mandatory. After this visit, during which you are present, the doctor will provide the form "Befundbogen aus der Einschulungsuntersuchung Schritt 1" to attach to the documents required for enrollment at the elementary school (neighborhood school or DFGS), whether this visit has already taken place or occurs later.

3. Enrollment in CP or 1. Klasse: You will receive a letter from your neighborhood school to enroll your child in 1. Klasse. Normally, this letter has already been sent to families living in Stuttgart; for families outside Stuttgart, it will arrive later (February/March). This appointment is mandatory. Please attend without your child (this condition applies only to Stuttgart schools). It is at this moment that you can inform the neighborhood school that you wish to enroll your child at the Franco-German School of Stuttgart-Sillenbuch. All communication then takes place between the schools.

4. In the French system, entry into CP occurs in the year in which the child turns 6. This is not the same as in the German system. There are the “Regel-Kinder” born between January and July, who must enroll in 1. Klasse; the “Korridor-Kinder” born between August and September; and the “Kann-Kinder” born October to December who can enroll in 1. Klasse. In Stuttgart, only Regel-Kinder are invited to enrollment.
