History

The Colegio Cristiano Jose9 de San Miguel was founded in 1988 as an extension of the Jose9 Christian Church of the Assemblies of God, then led by Brother Edison Campada. It began on 2nd Avenue Sur No. 608, Barrio Concepcif3n, San Miguel, with its first director, Professor Alfonso Chiz, and the first Bible teacher and spiritual adviser, Brother Jose9 Luis Ze1rate, starting with 120 students from preschool through Bachillerato in commercial and academic tracks. Following educational reform, modalities expanded to include preschool, first through third cycles of basic education, and bachillerato options in commerce, accounting, computing, and general studies. In 1999 it moved to its own facilities, and the campus features green spaces, recreational areas, a football field, basketball and volleyball courts, a semi-Olympic pool, language laboratory, science laboratories, robotics and computing laboratories, a multimedia room, library, staff lounge, nursing and first aid, psychological and spiritual support, and a cafeteria. The director was Jose9 Alfonso CHe1vez Saravia; Nueva San Salvador, July 1, 1988.
