History
SEK Quito International School is part of the SEK International Institution, which traces its origins to 1892 with the foundation of the San Estanislao School in Madrid. SEK Ecuador opened in 1984. The SEK International Institution began international expansion in the 1980s, opening the first SEK International School in America in 1982 in Santiago, Chile, and expanding to other centers in the region. In 1989 the SEK International Institution was established with management independence from the old schools in Madrid.
