The American School of Guayaquil is a private, nonprofit bilingual international school with ties to the United States, promoting cultural relations between Ecuador and the United States. The school teaches in English and Spanish and offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for students aged 16–19. The DP spans six subject groups and three components: Extended Essay (Monografía), Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS). Students choose six subjects from six groups as a full Diploma, with three at Higher Level and three at Standard Level, and complete assessments recognized for direct university entry, credit, and scholarships. Since 1985, school has delivered IB Diploma Programme. Primary Years Programme serves 3–12 with a transdisciplinary, inquiry-based framework and bilingual immersion, culminating in PYP Exhibition. Founded in 1942 by Harry and Mollie Jacobson, ASOCAG governs the school today; facilities include Robert Allan Reed stadium and modern laboratories on Avenida Juan Tanca Marengo.
