Introduction

Bambíno is an international nursery and kindergarten in Prague for children from six weeks to six years old. It operates from two branches: Dejvice (České družiny 1671/9, 160 00 Praha 6) and Vinohrady (Šrobárova 1869/14, 101 00 Praha 10). The school is accredited by Czech Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports and runs a Bespoke Curriculum called 'Big Activities for Little People' designed to develop lifelong skills. English language education is introduced from age two in a bilingual setting, with about 40% of teaching in English and both Czech and English used to create a bilingual learning environment. The program supports hands-on activities such as caring for plants and animals, cooking, ceramics, music, sports inside and outside, and the use of digital education technologies, with a focus on experiential learning. The school is part of Consilium within Dukes Education, and in 2018 Square Elementary School opened to extend the program.

Academics

Bambino teaches Bespoke Curriculum for students aged 0 to 6.

Curriculum

Big Activities for Little People. The educational programme teaches lifelong skills by encouraging children to try many things themselves, experience them with all their senses, and learn from them. The spaces support activities such as caring for plants and animals, cooking in the kitchen, making ceramics, developing musical abilities, participating in sports inside or outside, and working with digital education technologies. Children also learn to relax in the on-site sauna. Bambíno is part of the Consilium school network within Dukes Education, the largest premium education group in the United Kingdom and one of the fastest-growing education networks worldwide. English language education is introduced from age two in an international, bilingual context.
Wellbeing

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

An individualized approach underpins social and emotional learning at Bambíno. Every child is an individual, and staff strive to identify and develop each child's unique potential through collaborative learning, play, experiments, mutual support, and clear boundaries. The program emphasizes intellectual and emotional development, with particular attention to each child's emotional needs. Children gain social-emotional skills through daily interactions in both Czech and English, fostering positive relationships and communication. Emotional development and social growth are central to hard and soft skills activities, supporting confidence and resilience.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

From age two, children are exposed to English throughout the day as part of the programme. They hear and use both Czech and English, helping them learn languages naturally and strengthen social relationships. About 40% of teaching is English language instruction. This bilingual approach supports communication, confidence, and everyday interaction across activities. English language education is integrated into daily life and learning, not limited to formal lessons.

Mental Wellbeing

Staff recognise a range of emotions as part of daily life and help children process their feelings. When children experience sadness or anxiety, staff acknowledge these emotions and support adaptation to new environments. Daily routines include outdoor time and guided activities that promote resilience, emotional regulation, and social connection. Social-emotional development is integrated into everyday learning, contributing to overall wellbeing and confidence. The environment provides clear boundaries and predictable routines to help children feel safe and supported.

Safeguarding

Bambíno provides safeguarding documentation for parents and staff including a Safeguarding příručka (safeguarding manual), the Školní vzdělávací program (School Educational Program), the Školní řád (School Regulations), and the Výroční zpráva 2024/2025 (Annual Report 2024/2025). There is a designated data protection officer (Pověřená osoba pro ochranu osobních údajů) available at poverenec@skolkabambino.cz. Contact information for safeguarding inquiries is provided via branch emails for Dejvice and Vinohrady, and the school's contact page lists the relevant details. Documents and policies are accessible on the contact page under “Dokumenty.”

In 2010 the nursery was accredited by the Ministry, and due to growing demand a second branch opened in Vinohrady. In September 2018, the educational program was expanded with the opening of Square Elementary School.
