Introduction

St. Clement's School is an independent girls' day school in Toronto with a history dating to 1901. The campus centers on Powell Hall, a multipurpose performance and lecture space, plus a dance studio, a music room, and a visual arts studio, with the Lassonde Library serving Grades 1–12 as a central academic hub. The program is organized into Junior (Grades 1–6), Middle (Grades 7–9), and Senior (Grades 10–12) Schools, and offers the Canadian curriculum alongside Advanced Placement courses and the AP Capstone Diploma, the first Canadian girls' school to implement Capstone. The library and information services are integrated with learning, and technology is woven into daily study through BYOD for Grades 7–12. Language study is central—French through Grade 9, with a second language in Grade 10—while math milestones are emphasized in Grade 12. With over 40 sports teams and more than 70 co‑curricular activities, students explore academics, arts, and athletics within a supportive framework that includes LINCWell and student leadership.

- New student acceptance fee (one-time, non-refundable): CAD 9,500.
- Security deposit (due at time of initial registration; refunded when the student leaves the School except in the event of loss or damage): CAD 500.

Annual tuition (by year group)

- Grades 1–12: Annual tuition is CAD 41,900. This single annual tuition applies across the listed year groups. Standard and monthly payment plans are available.

Per-term / payment-plan breakdowns (billing examples and common structures)

- The School offers a Standard Payment Plan and a Monthly Payment Plan. The School's published schedules in recent years use a Registration Deposit followed by either three scheduled instalments (Standard Plan) or a series of monthly instalments (Monthly Plan).

- Example (Standard Payment Plan arithmetic for 2026–2027 using published 2026 amounts):
- Registration deposit: CAD 6,200 (applied to tuition). Remaining tuition after the deposit: CAD 35,700. If the remaining balance is split into three equal instalments under the Standard Plan, each instalment would be CAD 11,900. (Registration deposit + three instalments: CAD 6,200 + 3 × CAD 11,900 = CAD 41,900). This reflects the School's typical billing structure of a deposit plus three instalments.

- Example (Monthly Payment Plan arithmetic for 2026–2027 using published 2026 amounts):
- Registration deposit: CAD 6,200; remaining tuition CAD 35,700. If the remaining balance is spread equally over 11 monthly payments, each payment would be approximately CAD 3,245.45; the Monthly Plan may include administration/service charges that increase the total and require advance notice to Finance. Parents electing a monthly plan must advise the Finance Office by the school's stated deadline.

Billing schedule and payment terms

- Standard and monthly payment plans are available; tuition under a Standard Payment Plan is typically billed one month prior to each due date. The School's schedules in recent years set specific due dates for the registration deposit and subsequent instalments. Parents must keep accounts current; historical schedules note charges for NSF cheques and interest/late fees on overdue items.

- Payment methods accepted:
- Online banking (select St. Clement's School as a payee with major Canadian banks). Identify the student account with the four-digit student number supplied in the acceptance letter.
- Cheque or money order in Canadian dollars, payable to St. Clement's School, mailed to the Finance Office with student name and student number.
- Credit card payments for tuition and acceptance fees must be processed via Plastiq; a service surcharge of approximately 2.5% applies to credit-card payments. Credit-card payments issued outside Canada may incur a processing fee (see application/payment notes).
- Wire transfer (international banking details provided by the School; families are asked to alert Finance when funds are wired). Interac e-transfer is not accepted.

Boarding fees

- Boarding is not applicable. St. Clement's is a day school for Grades 1–12 (no boarding program).

Other costs and typical additional fees

- Uniform and textbooks: Uniforms are purchased through the School Store (The Penguin's Nest). Textbooks for Grades 7–12 are an additional cost through a specified supplier; Junior School textbooks (where applicable) are provided, with occasional small chargebacks for workbooks. The Parents' Association organizes used-uniform and textbook sales.

- Lunch / meal plan: For 2026–2027 the meal plan is mandatory for students in Grades 1–7 and is approximately CAD 2,450 for the academic year. Grade 8 students are enrolled by default with an opt-out option; Grades 9–12 students may purchase lunch using a declining balance card.

- After-school care: The Extended Day Program for Junior School students (to 6:00 pm) is available for an additional charge; before-school care is free of charge.

- Music, instrument rental, private lessons and school trips: Instrument rentals, private music lessons, and costs associated with school trips (transportation, lodging, entrance fees) are additional and billed to student accounts as incurred.

- Registration deposit: non-refundable; applied to annual tuition.
- New student acceptance fee: one-time, non-refundable.

Notes on service charges, late payment and returned items

- Credit-card payments via Plastiq carry an approximate surcharge (around 2.5%). Payments made with non-domestic cards may incur an additional processing fee (4% noted for application payments).
