Payment may be made as a single payment, a two‑payment plan, or a monthly instalment plan (eight monthly instalments is an available monthly option). An early‑payment discount is applied if all school fees are paid in full by April 1 (per the school's early payment plan).
- The Tuition Reimbursement Insurance Plan (TRIP) is mandatory for new students and for families choosing the two‑payment plan or the eight‑monthly payment plan; returning families who pay in full may be permitted to opt out by signing a TRIP waiver. TRIP program costs by student type are: Day student CAD 400; Domestic boarding CAD 800; International (including partial‑year) CAD 1,200. Reimbursements (when eligible) are calculated on a 37‑week school year and paid only after all outstanding balances have been settled. Sample reimbursement parameters include up to 75% of unused tuition weeks for medical withdrawal and up to 50% for other KES‑approved withdrawals.

Boarding fees and what is included
- Boarding annual tuition (see amounts above) includes on‑campus meals and laundry facilities in addition to the standard academic program inclusions. Day fees include the academic program, network access, textbooks, recreational facilities, daily lunch, and day‑to‑day health care needs; boarding fees include those items plus on‑campus meals and laundry.

Other costs and recurring charges
- The annual tuition does not include certain personal or optional expenses. Examples of items billed separately and charged to the student account (monthly invoicing) include: purchases at the KES Supply Shop or IT Shop, school uniforms (and uniform store purchases), shoes, additional clothing or equipment, optional or special activities (plays, movies, weekend activities), optional trips and athletic tournaments, medical and dental expenses, medical insurance, physiotherapy, counselling, private tutoring, graduation and school pictures, visa renewals, travel to/from airports, pocket money, replacement or lost/damaged textbooks or equipment, and damage charges. These miscellaneous personal expenses are invoiced monthly and are payable upon receipt.

Refunds and non‑refundable items
- Application fees and Legacy fees are non‑refundable. The Legacy Fee is not applicable to outstanding balances and cannot be applied to tuition. The TRIP program governs tuition reimbursement for eligible withdrawals: reimbursement is calculated on a 37‑week school year basis, and eligible medical withdrawals can receive up to 75% of unused tuition weeks while other KES‑approved withdrawals may receive up to 50%—reimbursement is issued only after the student account is paid in full or in good standing. If the account is in arrears at the time of review, reimbursement is not available.

Discounts and fee reductions
- Sibling discount: 10% reduction of school fees for the second child and any additional children attending KES in the same year; this discount is calculated on net school fees after deduction of any scholarship or financial assistance.
- Early‑payment discount: an early‑payment discount is applied when all school fees are paid in full by April 1, in accordance with the school's early payment plan.

Fee payment methods and third‑party processors
- Credit card payments: Accepted through an authorized third‑party processor (Plastiq) allowing MasterCard, American Express, and Visa payments; Plastiq charges a convenience fee and processing to post payments can take 5–7 business days.
- Wire / international payments: Flywire is the authorized agent for international wire payments; Flywire supports payment in many home currencies, helps avoid unexpected correspondent bank fees, and provides payment tracking and multilingual customer service for international families. Flywire is intended for international transactions.

Mandatory and administrative notes affecting fees
- TRIP is mandatory for new students and for families on the two‑payment or eight‑monthly payment plans; returning families paying in full may be eligible to opt out by signing a waiver. TRIP costs and reimbursement rules are applied as part of the school's financial policies.

Higher Education Progression

Most graduates go on to university. Post-secondary counselling is provided to all students to support planning for higher education, and guidance activities help with university research, applications, and scholarships. SAT testing is available at KES, and prep groups and portfolios guide students through post-secondary planning. The English Language Learning (ELL) program helps students build confidence as they learn, live, and belong in an English-speaking school community. ELL classes take place in Language Labs in the Senior Academic Building; Grade 6-9 have scheduled ELL lab time, while Grade 10-12 students should connect with their EAP teacher during lab time. Students also have Grade 10-11 afternoon tutorial sessions for English help and Grade 12 IELTS/TOEFL preparation on Tuesdays; additional Grade 6-12 evening tutorials are available by appointment. The Pathways program and various online resources are used to practice and improve English skills.

Students may self-refer or be referred by staff or parents. Counselling sessions are confidential, except in cases involving abuse, neglect, imminent self-harm, or imminent harm to others.

Safeguarding

The school provides a confidential, safe space for students through its counselling and wellness services. The wellness hub, with the student life and wellness director and counsellors, supports safeguarding across campus. Referrals can be made by parents, teachers, nursing staff, houseparents, coaches, or advisors to access counselling services. Students are encouraged to seek help for safeguarding concerns through the counselling team and health services.
