History
School of the Nations was established on September 1, 1980, to build a learning community of world citizens from diverse backgrounds. It opened with 17 students and three rented classrooms in the Independent British Institute (IBI). By 1981 it had grown to 37 students and occupied a wing of the Presbyterian Institute in Lago Sul, Brasilia. In August 1987 the school moved to its current Brasilia campus, and in 2002 inaugurated a second campus to host the Early Childhood program. Today, School of the Nations educates over 700 students.

Admissions
1. Schedule your visit and meeting. Begin by scheduling a campus visit and arranging a meeting with an Admissions Officer. A Nations Admissions Team member will contact you to arrange the visit or answer questions. 2. Complete the Admissions Form. The Admissions Form is the first formal document for the application. To complete it, upload the child's birth certificate, a recent 3x4 cm photo, and the child's most recent report card (Grades 2–11). The application is not complete until these documents are received. 3. Submit additional documents. Provide copies of the past two years of report cards and the most recent MAP tests or exam samples; include letters of recommendation. Students with special educational needs must provide psycho-educational reports and an Individual Learning Plan. 4. Take the admission assessments. Early Childhood (Nursery–Grade 1) includes an interview with the coordinator and a health/development form. Elementary (Grades 2–5) requires reading and writing in Portuguese (not required for foreign students) and a Mathematics exam; Grades 4–5 require Portuguese as well.
