Introduction

Fundação Torino is an Italo‑Brazilian international school located in the Belvedere / Nova Lima area of Belo Horizonte. It offers a bicultural programme combining the Brazilian curriculum with the Italian curriculum (escola paritária italiana), with stages from Scuola Materna (education for children aged 2–5) through Scuola Elementare (ages 6–10), Scuola Media and Scuola Superiore (upper secondary); at the end of Ensino Médio students receive Brazilian certification and, where applicable, an Italian diploma that permits university entry in EU countries. Instruction is bilingual in Portuguese and Italian; English is introduced from Scuola Materna and Spanish and Latin are taught in later years. Facilities listed on the school site include the Fab Lab Leonardo da Vinci, a sports school, a sensory laboratory for early years, science laboratories, the Biblioteca Dante Alighieri and an on‑site cultural space. The school runs integration and immersion programmes (PIE) for incoming students and offers exchange periods with partner schools in Italy.
