Escola Japonesa de São Paulo is a Japanese international day school in São Paulo operated by the Sociedade Japonesa de Educação e Cultura. Established in 1967, the school follows the Japanese national curriculum and is recognised by Japan's Ministry of Education as offering courses equivalent to primary and lower‑secondary education; it is organised into an elementary division (Years 1–6) and a lower‑secondary division (Years 1–3). Instruction is delivered in Japanese, and the programme incorporates study of Brazilian political, economic and cultural contexts — including local language study — to support pupils living in Brazil. The campus houses purpose‑built facilities: classrooms for both divisions, a library, science laboratory, technology and art room, music and home‑economics rooms, a health room, a covered sports area and courtyard, an auditorium, meeting and multipurpose spaces and table‑tennis equipment. The school's stated purpose is to provide Japanese‑language education that allows students to re‑enter the Japanese school system without loss of progression.
