Introduction

Colégio Pastor Dohms — Unidade Higienópolis (Centro de Ensino Médio Pastor Dohms), in Porto Alegre, is a Lutheran school that publishes provision from Educação Infantil through Ensino Médio and offers two curricula at the Higienópolis unit: Regular and a bilingual Portuguese–German stream. The school states that its Higienópolis unit is an Authorized IB World School delivering the IB Diploma Programme (DP) for the upper secondary cohort (typically ages 16–19). Instruction is primarily in Portuguese; the institution highlights a long-standing bilingual programme in German and regular instruction in English, and it reports offering external language certifications (DSD, Cambridge and DELE). Published material names a Laboratory of Natural Sciences among on‑site facilities and refers to shared installations with the Comunidade Martin Luther; school documents and lists also reference practical laboratory work for upper secondary students. The school emphasises international study trips and the alignment of the IB DP with its existing pedagogical approach as distinctive elements of its senior‑school provision.
