Introduction

Colégio Farroupilha is a Brazilian basic‑education school in Porto Alegre (unit Três Figueiras) maintained by the Associação Beneficente e Educacional de 1858. It serves students from berçário (nursery) through Educação Infantil, Ensino Fundamental (Anos Iniciais e Finais) and Ensino Médio. The school has incorporated Cambridge English qualifications into its curriculum since 2010 and operates as an authorised Cambridge Assessment English Open Centre, offering preparation and school‑based application of Cambridge examinations; it also facilitates international certifications in German (DSD) and Spanish (DELE). The curriculum includes a programme of additional languages—English from early years, German from the 5th year and optional Spanish in Ensino Médio—alongside Portuguese as the national curricular language.
