Parent Experience

History

Pallotti High School is a Catholic high school offering a wide range of opportunities in academics, athletics, performing arts, and extracurricular activities. In 1957 the attic of the convent was converted into classrooms, and from the start the program included a home economics bias with cookery and needlework. In 1959 construction began on a new high school building; enrollment was 117, but the building sank during construction and completion was delayed, with one form using the Parish Hall for a classroom. In August 1961 the modern school was ready and blessed, and two months later Hurricane Hattie struck, requiring replacement of furnishings on the ground floor. In 2005-2006 expansion aimed to raise enrolment to 450 and was overseen by a committee of interested parents, alumnae, and Pallottine sisters, with a January 2006 ground-breaking; the exterior of S & G Hall was completed in 2017 to add classrooms and offices.

Community

The school fosters a supportive Catholic-based environment that values education, spiritual growth, and service. It strives to be a healthy, supportive setting where students receive a holistic education to function in a global world. It emphasizes the development of students' psychological, social, moral, and spiritual integrity as part of forming true Christians who participate in the Church's mission. The emblem and motto embody Vincent Pallotti's ideals and remind students to cultivate virtue.

Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

Parents are involved in school activities and work closely with teachers to support their children's academic and personal growth. A development and maintenance committee, including interested parents and alumnae alongside Pallottine sisters, oversaw the 2005-2006 expansion project. The committee was chaired by Paul Lecky, a member of the Board of Governors. Ground-breaking for the expansion occurred in January 2006, and the exterior of S & G Hall was completed in 2017.
