Admissions
1. Eligibility request via the Enrolments Portal to access the online application form. The link to the enrolment or transfer application becomes available as from 7 January 2025 on the intranets of the European institutions and from the enrolment secretariats of the Brussels school/site corresponding to the first preference.
2. The online procedure is organized in two steps: eligibility request via the enrolments portal to access the online application form, followed by the submission of the enrolment or transfer application once access has been granted. Applications must be submitted online via the Enrolment Portal and, where applicable, attachments in PDF (see Annex V of the Enrolment Policy) within the required deadlines.
3. Language section selection and L1: A fundamental principle is that pupils are enrolled in the language section corresponding to their mother tongue/dominant language (L1) where a section exists; if no L1 section exists, pupils are enrolled in a vehicular language section and attend SWALS as L1. The Director determines L1 and changes to L1 require compelling pedagogical reasons; should a new language section be created, SWALS pupils with that language as L1 transfer automatically to the new section; L1 determination is definitive in principle.
4. Calendar, deadlines and information sessions: The calendar and enrolment procedure are published and deadlines apply for online submission; as of 7 January 2025 the enrolment link is available via intranets and enrolment secretariats. The enrolment secretariats will be closed from 21 July to 15 August 2025.
5. Information sessions and welcome tour: Individual visits or Open Days are not organised due to limited access to the Woluwe site; a welcome meeting followed by a guided tour will be arranged before the start of the new school year.
