Governance and Ownership

Glenferrie Primary School is a government primary school in Victoria. The School Council consists of 12 members made up of the Principal, teachers and parents.
Fees
Application fees

- Domestic (Australian citizens, permanent residents and eligible visa holders): No application or tuition charge applies for enrolment in Prep–Year 6.
- International (student-visa holders enrolled through the Department's International Student Program): A non‑refundable application/enrolment fee and tuition fees apply; these are invoiced and collected through the Department's International Student Program (DE IED) and cannot be waived by the school. International application and tuition arrangements are set under the Department's ISP procedures.

Tuition fees by school year (Prep – Year 6)

- Domestic students (Prep–Year 6): There are no tuition fees for standard instruction; education and instruction to meet the Victorian curriculum are provided without tuition charges. Schools may request parent contributions for curriculum resources, materials or optional activities (see Parent Contributions below).

- International students (Prep–Year 6): Tuition is payable. Glenferrie Primary is accredited to accept international students under CRICOS and participates in the Department's International Student Program; international tuition is charged to the family by DE (IED) and the Department publishes ISP fee schedules and invoicing arrangements. Families of international students are invoiced by the Department (commonly twice yearly) and the written ISP agreement sets the specific fees applicable to each student. The school does not publish a per‑year domestic tuition table because domestic tuition is not charged; international tuition rates and the Department invoicing timetable are governed by the ISP.

Billing schedule and payment terms

- Domestic parent contributions and user‑pays items: The school council approves parent contribution and user‑pays arrangements annually; contributions for the year are normally published for each year level and are billed or made available via the school's payment system according to the school's published schedule (for example, at the start of the year or placed on the school's payment portal). Families may be offered instalment or payment plan options where needed in line with school policy and Department guidance.

- International students: Families are invoiced by the Department's International Student Program, typically twice per year (invoices issued around May for Semester 2 and November for Semester 1 of the following year). Non‑payment follows the Department's fee collection process and can lead to sanctions including termination of enrolment if unpaid. The ISP written agreement sets due dates and the refund conditions that apply to that enrolment.

Boarding fees

- Not applicable. Glenferrie Primary is a day primary school (Prep–Year 6) and does not operate boarding facilities; there are no boarding fees. The school provides information about before/after school care but does not offer on‑site boarding.

Other costs and fees (examples parents should expect)

- Curriculum contributions / Essential student learning items: The school requests approved contributions to cover classroom materials, specialist program resources, ICT subscriptions and similar items that support learning. These contributions are voluntary for government schools but commonly requested and are usually listed by year level (Curriculum Contributions).

- Extra‑curricular user‑pays items: Optional activities (instrumental music, clubs, selected incursions, paid extra‑curricular programs) are charged on a user‑pays basis and will be invoiced when offered. Camps and excursions that are optional or outside the standard curriculum are usually charged separately.

- Excursions, camps and sport: Where included as user‑pays or optional activities, costs are charged per activity or per camp and are separate from any ISP tuition amount for international students. The school follows the Department Camps and Excursions guidance for collection and refund arrangements.

- Uniform: Uniform items with the Glenferrie Primary School logo must be purchased from the school's nominated supplier (PSW) or from the school's second‑hand uniform shop; non‑logo items may be sourced from general retailers. Uniform costs are an additional outlay for families and vary by supplier and items purchased.

- Booklists and stationery: The school provides information about recommended stationery and may offer packaged booklist orders; costs for stationery and personal learning items are normally either included in Curriculum Contributions or requested separately as a booklist.

- Other potential costs: School photos, optional performances or productions, optional instrumental tuition, specialist program fees and voluntary building or library fund donations (tax‑deductible where applicable) are additional items families may be invited to pay for during the year.

Refund information

- Domestic parent contributions and user‑pays items: Refunds are considered on a case‑by‑case basis by the school; refunds are generally provided where no cost has been incurred or where cancellation/withdrawal occurs in accordance with school policy and the Department Parent Payments guidance. Financial‑hardship arrangements are available and families can discuss payment or refund matters confidentially with the school.

- International students (ISP): Refunds for international student fees are governed by the ISP written agreement and the Department's ISP refund process; parents must use the ISP refund request process set out by the Department. The ISP written agreement outlines refundable and non‑refundable circumstances.

Fee payment options

- Typical payment channels used by Victorian government schools (and listed by many schools) include: the school's online payment portal (Sentral/Compass or similar), BPAY, direct debit/Direct Credit (EFT), EFTPOS at the office, credit/debit card payments where accepted, Centrepay for eligible families, instalment/payment plans and cash where permitted by the school's office. Payment arrangements and available channels are published each year with the Parent Contribution documentation.

Summary of availability for 2026/27 figures

- Glenferrie Primary publishes a Parent Payment Information document and a Preparing for School FAQ; the school is CRICOS‑accredited for international students. The school's public materials identify where parent contributions and user‑pays items are used, but a school‑published, line‑by‑line tuition table for international students or a detailed, year‑level per‑term fee table for 2026/27 is not publicly available in the school's online Parent Payment documents that are published for 2024. International tuition, application and invoicing timetables are governed and issued by the Department's International Student Program. For precise per‑year or per‑term fee figures for international enrolments or for an updated Parent Contribution schedule for 2026/27, the Department's ISP fee schedules and the school's current Parent Payment letter are the controlling references.
