International School of the Stockholm Region (ISSR) is a publicly funded, English-speaking school founded by the City of Stockholm to meet demand for international education. It offers a complete IB continuum: Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP) and the IB Career-related Programme (CP) for students aged 5 to 18. ISSR has served as an IB World School since 1999 and is based on Södermalm campus, which joined the IB Continuum in 2016. The school educates more than 600 students from over 70 countries, reflecting its international community. Facilities include a large library with books, databases, online services, a laptop program for students from M6 to DP2. A football field is on campus, and professional coaches supervise sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis and cricket. Extra activities include choir, band, chess and about 30 CAS clubs, with ManageBac for guardians and students worldwide.
SSHL is a Swedish boarding school and high school with an international outlook, situated along Lake Mälaren near the historic town of Sigtuna and convenient for Arlanda Airport. The school blends Swedish Gymnasium programmes for Years 10–12 with International Baccalaureate options, offering three IB programmes: DP, CP, and MYP, taught in English in the Diploma Programme while preserving a Swedish-language track within the IB and Gymnasium options. SSHL serves both boarding and day students, with eight boarding houses and a campus of 565 students (205 boarders). Facilities include a large indoor sports hall with basketball, volleyball and dance space, outdoor tennis and football facilities, rowing boathouses and a well-stocked library shared with the Sigtuna Foundation libraries. The not-for-profit Sigtuna School Foundation runs SSHL. A distinctive feature is its international projects and service culture, such as the Kenya Project and Life-Link, alongside a broad range of clubs and activities for students.
Located on Stora Essingen, Lycée Français Saint Louis Stockholm (LFSL) serves ages 1 to 18 within AEFE's French curriculum framework. The school offers a homologated French curriculum from CP to Terminale, with an on-site Swedish Förskola for younger children. Since 2022 LFSL also offers the French International Baccalaureate (BFI) in a trilingual French–Swedish–English format, alongside the standard Baccalauréat path and the possibility of a dual Baccalauréat with a Gymnasieexamen for Swedish-speaking students. All students study Swedish from first grade, and a Swedish international section connects the French and Swedish education systems, with continuous assessment and final exams including a major oral at Terminale. The campus houses a CDI library, a school canteen, and after-school care (Fritidshem) per Stockholm Municipality. Extracurricular options include a Rugby Club Lycée Français after-school sessions and seasonal tournaments. A distinctive feature is the integration of Swedish language and the BF I program within the AEFE network.
