Barcelona’s international schools include a substantial cohort of IB World Schools offering one or more IB programmes (Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma) alongside other international curricula. Many IB schools in the city teach primarily in English while layering Spanish and Catalan across the week, and some offer additional languages as part of a trilingual or bilingual project. Annual tuition varies widely by school and age group - a broad market range runs from roughly €9,500 up to around €30,000 a year, with many families budgeting substantially more once extras, school capital charges and services are added. Admissions focus on a September intake but places are often filled from applications made many months earlier; assessments, interviews and document checks are commonly scheduled in the months before entry.
