French-curriculum international schools in Norway follow the French national curriculum (with local adaptations) and are most often found in Oslo, where the Lycée Français René Cassin offers a full maternelle-to-lycée pathway and is part of the AEFE international network. Instruction is primarily in French, with Norwegian and English taught as additional languages and extra language support for children arriving with little or no French. Because these schools are fee-paying, annual costs vary widely by age and family status - expect lower, municipality-capped fees at nursery level and substantially higher tuition in collège and lycée years - and many schools offer sibling discounts, government bursaries for French nationals, or state support schemes for families taxed in Norway. Admissions follow the French academic calendar (main intake before the start of the school year in August/September), but schools also manage waiting lists and occasional mid-year entry; non-French speakers are normally assessed for language support rather than excluded outright. For relocating families it is important to check homologation/recognition, exam pathways (baccalauréat) and practical matters such as transport, after-school care and how quickly the school can provide language support on arrival.
