Affordable International Schools in Norway

About international schools in Norway
Affordable international schools in Norway form a small, city-focused sector - most are found around employment hubs such as Oslo, Stavanger, Bergen and Trondheim - and many deliver internationally recognised programmes in English. The International Baccalaureate and British/IGCSE pathways are common, while a number of bilingual or foreign-language schools (French, German etc.) also operate alongside Norwegian-language municipal schools. Because some private international schools are approved for state support under Norway’s privateschool rules, a large share of their operating costs can be met by public grants and that makes annual parental fees substantially lower than in many other countries. Families should expect the Norwegian academic year to run from mid-August to mid-June, and to apply several months before an August start for guaranteed places; smaller schools and municipally supported international schools can be notably cheaper than independent full-fee schools.
