The school serves kindergarten through college with approximately 160 students and more than twenty nationalities. Tandem IMS was set up by multilingual education specialists to advance primary education through multilingualism. It began with six children at the Uetikon site and grew to over 300 children from about 30 nationalities, with campuses in Erlenbach, Küsnacht, Zollikon and Zurich. Sonya Maechler-Dent founded the first Tandem IMS school in Uetikon am See and led expansion; the name Tandem International Multilingual School was adopted in 2010 with the motto 'Discover the world through languages'. In 2024 Tandem IMS celebrated 20 years of multilingual education, and in 2025 opened the Küsnacht campus hosting the Gymnasium and primary grades 5 and 6.

The school grounds can be shown and, if possible, a lesson may be observed. To make an appointment, contact the school office or fill out the registration form below. 2. Trial Days. Your child experiences the SIS environment for one or two days to ensure the child feels comfortable; the trial days are a first introduction. 3. Submitting the Admission Form. The registration form is provided during or after the interview, in printed or digital form. Fill it in completely and return it to the school. 4. Signing the School Contract. After registration is received, the school contract is drawn up and sent with a payment slip for the registration fee. Return the signed contract and transfer the registration fee to reserve a place. Admission is possible all year round. Most students are enrolled in spring (February to April) to start in August. International applicants will receive information and support from office staff to assist with a smooth transition for the entire family.
