History Open since 2003, PaRK IS began with O Parque Taguspark; a second sponsored school in Lisbon opened about a year later. The first non-sponsored school, O Parque Belém, opened in 2006, followed by the Restelo Primary School in 2008 and a Cascais campus in 2010. In 2016, O Parque Bilingual Schools became PaRK International School, opening Grade 7 in Lisbon; Praça de Espanha campus opened in 2017. PaRK IS joined Inspired in 2018; a new Alfragide campus opened in 2019, and IB Diploma Programme certification was awarded in 2020; the first IB Diploma cohort graduated in 2022, with Cascais closing that year to make way for King's College School, an Inspired school. | History 1639 marks the beginning of the Irish Dominican Sisters' history in Portugal, when they came to the country due to persecution. Admissions 1. Enquiry Form: Fill in the Enquiry Form to apply to any of our campuses (Alfragide, Praça de Espanha or Restelo). This form should also be completed if you wish to book a visit or to learn more about PaRK International School. 2. Application Form: Complete the Application Form sent by our team. If applying to Junior School onwards, upload the latest school reports in the Open Apply portal or send them to our Admissions team. 3. Campus Meeting: After the application forms are complete, book a meeting with the campus of your choice (Alfragide, Praça de Espanha or Restelo) at a convenient date and time. This meeting can be a campus visit or an online meeting, depending on the family's preference. 4. Registration Fee: If you would like to continue with the admissions process, there is a non-refundable €100 Registration Fee. 5. Interview: Interview with the Psychologist (from Grade 1 onwards). For IGCSE and IB / A Levels applicants, if necessary there may be an extra interview with the Deputy Head of Academics or IB / A Levels Coordinator to discuss IGCSE and IB / A Levels subject choices, respectively. 6. Evaluation: From Grade 5 onwards, there is an Evaluation following the interview - an online, age-related objective assessment test (GL Cognitive Ability Test 4). There can also be an online language assessment test (English or Portuguese) at this stage if required. 7. Offer Letter: Each student's admission is determined by the School Board with the advice of the respective Head. The decision is communicated by email to the parents along with the necessary steps to complete the enrolment, including the payment of the enrolment fee. Based on this, the child will be given a conditional or unconditional offer (conditional offers may require the parents to agree to booster lessons in English prior to admission to PaRK IS). 8. Formal Registration: The official registration takes place in June. At that time, the Parent/Guardian needs to deliver the required documents for the student's process. Your child is now a PaRK IS student! | Admissions The school has an open admission policy and accepts students with a broad range of academic ability and learning needs. All applications are reviewed prior to confirming availability to ensure the resources to support the student, with focus on student wellbeing within the International Baccalaureate Programmes. Expression of Interest: submit the requested information to be contacted by a member of the admissions team. Visit to the Campus and Meeting with Admissions Team: during the school tour you meet a member of the teaching staff and, where possible, a student of a similar age; if applying to Grade 6 or above, a placement test may be requested during your visit or at your child's current school. Students not fluent in English or with special educational needs may be referred to Learning Support professionals. Offer Email: after the visit the application is reviewed to confirm availability; placement is offered according to space and the date of your application. Registration Forms, Documents and Fees: to complete registration and secure a place, you will receive and complete forms including Registration details, Health Questionnaire, School Consents, Rules and Regulations, Tuition Fees; it is important to disclose any health or learning concerns to avoid difficulties, and a Registration fee payment is required. Registration Confirmation: on receipt of the completed forms and payment of the Annual Registration and the applicable Capital Levy, the School will confirm admission. |
