History Based in the heart of Lisbon's Restelo district, L'École Trilingue serves pupils aged 2 to 11. It was born of a partnership between Laurent Batut, founder of L'école bilingue in London, and Turenne Consulting, expanding the founders' bilingual education model to Portugal. In 1917 the establishment moved to Pátio do Tijolo in the Braancamp Palace near Largo do Rato, purchased that year by the Society of the French School of Lisbon. The last move to the current premises occurred on 17 November 1952. The Lycée Français Charles Lepierre is named after Professor Charles Lepierre (1867–1945), a chemist who arrived in Portugal in 1888 and contributed to microbiology teaching in Lisbon and Coimbra. Inaugurated in 1952, the lycée is today part of AEFE and is directly managed under the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In the 2022 school year the primary school moved into new premises.
