Social & emotional learning
Social & emotional learning The IB Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) develops the whole child — intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically. Learner Profile attributes are woven into daily practice, guiding behaviour and interactions. Four Core Powers—Inquiry, Thinking, Communication, and Caring—support students' social and emotional development. Caring fosters empathy, compassion, and social responsibility and is embedded in every unit, relationship, and day of learning. Learning is action-oriented; students reflect, make informed choices, and take action to benefit their peers, school staff, and the wider community. | Social & emotional learning Wellbeing@VIS embeds social-emotional learning across the school. The social-emotional curriculum is age-appropriate and vertically aligned to develop students' social and emotional competencies. It centers on five core competencies across four dimensions: Being Cared For, Caring for Self, Caring for Others, and Caring for the World, following the CASEL framework. The framework is built around four pillars—Curriculum, Culture, Compliance, and Conversations—to create a safe, inclusive learning environment. Counseling and wellbeing resources are available through Student Support Services to support students, families, and staff. |

The SST brings together the Director of Student Support, school counselors, English Language Acquisition teachers, and other staff to address academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Universal Design for Learning (UDL), differentiated instruction, and flexible co-teaching models guide practice to foster belonging and access to the curriculum. Admissions consider a student's needs and VIS's capacity to provide appropriate support services, with limited spaces per grade for students requiring extra help. |

Admissions Five simple steps 1) Submit an Enquiry: Contact LLIS via the online form, email, or WhatsApp. The admissions team responds within 24 hours. This initial contact provides guidance on the next steps and available start dates. The enquiry helps determine whether LLIS is a good fit for the child and family. 2) Campus Tour & Meeting: Visit the Sangweuy campus and preview the facilities. Meet the Principal and observe the learning environment first-hand. The tour offers an opportunity to ask questions about the IB PYP program and school routines. This step helps families assess fit and ongoing communication expectations. 3) Complete the Application: Submit the application form with required documents: birth certificate, immunisation records, passport copy, and previous school reports. Applications can be submitted online or on paper. The admissions team reviews the documents to determine next steps and may request additional information if needed. The family waits for a decision. 4) Assessment & Interview: A short, play-based assessment helps us understand your child's strengths. No preparation is needed. An interview with parents may be conducted to discuss background and goals for the child. The results inform placement decisions and next steps. 5) Offer & Enrolment: Receive the offer letter, complete enrolment, and join the LLIS family. Orientation sessions for children and parents are included. Families confirm acceptance and finalize start dates. LLIS welcomes new students into the community. | Admissions Step 1 | Prepare the Necessary Documents. Prepare the documents in PDF or digital format. Applications submitted during the school term typically take approximately one week to process, two weeks or longer for students with learning needs. Applications received during school holidays will take two weeks or longer. Additional information or meetings with parents, teachers or specialists may be requested to support the review process and to ensure that VIS can best meet the student's needs. The Head of School will give final approval before an offer can be placed. Step 5 | Offer of Admission.
