The Castelli International School opened in September 1977, founded to integrate the Italian ministerial curriculum with an Anglo-Saxon international program. The international program is integrated with Cambridge Lower and Upper Secondary, and Cambridge Checkpoint and IGCSE exams (internal to the school) provide qualifications that allow students to access national and international high schools. All teachers are university graduates and qualified to teach with international post-graduate qualifications (PGCE); teachers come from the United Kingdom, Ireland, the USA, Canada, Belgium and Italy, and French and Italian, as well as other languages, are taught by native-speaking teachers. English and Italian programmes complement each other, with English being the core language. All core subjects are taught in English, and language courses are taught by certified, mother-tongue language teachers. Italian is taught on two paths: Italian as a foreign language (IFL) and the Italian Ministerial Programme (IMP). French is compulsory from grades 5 through 8; French is taught during school hours, and other languages are offered upon request as extracurricular activities.

1. Castelli International School has a rolling admissions policy, with applications accepted throughout the school year and summer. However, due to the limited number of places available, it is advisable to apply by January preceding the academic year of entrance. The school evaluates applicants on the ability to relate to the school environment academically and socially, readiness for critical analysis, and the ability to face and solve problems, to gather information and communicate it, which are integral to the experiential approach to learning.
2. For Primary School, there is an informal admissions interview held at the school. The interview assesses the child's fit for the program and their readiness to participate in classroom activities. It helps determine the child's capacity to engage academically and socially within the school environment.
3. For lower secondary (Grades 6-8), applicants undergo a written evaluation in English, math and Italian, as well as an interview.
Admissions
To enroll, submit a non-binding request to join the waiting list for the class of interest. After acceptance, the school will communicate the steps to finalize the enrollment. The 2026-2027 tuition fees can be downloaded. Educational Covenant of Shared Responsibility applies to Infanzia, Primaria and Secondary I and II Grade, with separate covenants for Infanzia, Primaria, Secondary I Grade, and Liceo.
