The British International School Moscow traces its origins to 1994 with the establishment of School 1 for children aged 3–7 taught in English. In 1995, Schools 2 and 3 opened for children aged 7–11 and 11+, operating under the English National Curriculum. In 1997, School 5 and Kindergarten were opened, introducing a Russian education programme for ages 7–18 with English instruction. The International Programme was created in 2002, and in 2007 the Secondary School 7 was opened to offer A‑levels and IGCSEs; Cambridge University accreditation was achieved in 2011 and the A‑level programme was assigned in 2014. COBIS accreditation followed in 2016, the same year the school was mentioned in a Queen's Jubilee anniversary album; by 2023 BIS² operated six schools with about 1,000 students, 300 staff and 2,000 parents.

1. Free consultation. Free consultation is available by telephone from Monday to Friday 9:00–18:00 at +7 (495) 987-44-86 and +7 (495) 426-03-11. This call provides an opportunity to seek advice and ask questions about BIS Moscow's international programmes. It marks the first step in the admissions process. 2. Fill out the form. Fill out the form on the BIS Moscow website. The school administrator will contact the family and invite them to a meeting and a tour of the school. This initiates the next stage of placement. 3. Personal meeting with the Headteacher and School tour. A personal meeting with the Headteacher is arranged and a tour of the school is provided. The meeting offers an opportunity to learn about the educational process and to discuss the child's needs with BIS Moscow staff. 4. Trial day and Assessment. A trial day can be organised, and an assessment is conducted during the visit. This helps BIS Moscow determine suitability for the programme and class placement. Families can observe classroom activities and routines during the trial. 5. School enrollment. Based on the recommendations of teachers and the results of the meetings, a decision is made and information about the admission is sent to parents. This communicates the outcome and outlines next steps for enrollment. 6. Signing of a contract and its payment. The contract is signed and payment is made. This finalises the admission arrangement and confirms the pupil's place at BIS Moscow.
