The British International School Moscow was established in 1994 as the first private international school in Moscow. In 1995, School 2 opened for children aged 7 to 11 and School 3 for older students, delivering English-language education under the English National Curriculum. Tatiana Konstantinovna Anufrieva was the founder and led BIS Moscow for twenty-six years. BIS Moscow achieved Cambridge accreditation in 2011 and was honoured in 2016 for inclusion in a Queen's anniversary album. As of 2023 BIS² has almost three hundred employees, one thousand students, two thousand parents, and six schools.

The International School of Moscow (ISM) was founded in 2007 and operates on two campuses, Rosinka Campus (ages 2 to 11) and Krylatskoe Campus (ages 3 to 18). The school follows the English National Curriculum from Pre-Nursery through A-Levels. ISM is accredited by COBIS and Cambridge International Examinations and is graded excellent by the Independent Schools Inspectorate. It is home to over 700 students from more than 50 countries. The International Programme follows the English National Curriculum, with English and Russian languages compulsory in Years 7–9 and French, German and Spanish optional. The Russian Programme is the main general educational programme, usually taught in Russian, with English-language instruction available in the International Programme. English is the language of instruction for the international stream, and EAL support is available.

English as an Additional Language (EAL) support is provided for students needing extra help with their speaking, reading, and writing, including specialist EAL assistant teachers in every year group, who provide in-class, one-to-one, and small-group support. The International Programme runs for ages 2 to 18 and follows the English National Curriculum. All subjects are taught in English by teachers from the UK and Commonwealth countries. The Russian Programme runs for ages 7 to 18 and follows the Federal State Educational Standards, with English taught in depth by native speakers. The school has students of over 50 nationalities. Classes are limited to 15 students. Students are immersed in an English-speaking environment from day 1 with EAL support including tutoring and intensive mini-group lessons in grammar, phonics, reading and writing. Two educational programmes are offered: International Programme and Russian Programme. 1. ISM is a fully inclusive international school that offers places all year round to children aged from 2 to 18. Start your admissions journey by filling in the online enquiry form. You can also call or email to start a conversation with the Admissions Team. The Admissions Team will arrange a bespoke virtual meeting or an on-site visit. 2. Take a tour: Visit ISM in person to experience the campus, facilities, and community. A bespoke virtual meeting is available if you cannot visit Moscow. The Admissions Team will tailor the visit to your needs. 3. ISM offers a bespoke programme based on the English National Curriculum from Pre-Nursery through to Sixth Form. The curriculum spans Early Years through to Sixth Form, including IGCSEs and A-Levels. Your child can join ISM at any time during the school year (places permitting). Fill in the online application form and send supporting documents. 4. Family interview: After receiving your documents, you and your child will be invited to a family interview with the Head of Campus. The interview assesses fit with the programme and discusses next steps. If the interview is successful, a formal offer is made. 5. Offering your child a place: If everyone is happy, a formal offer is issued. You will receive information about transport, uniforms, and start dates. The admissions team will guide you through the next administrative steps. 6. Starting school: ISM will send information ahead of the start date. On the first day, you will be welcomed onto campus and your child will meet teachers and classmates. The school will show them around to help them settle in.
