History Located in the heart of the fashionable Belgrano area in Buenos Aires, Belgrano Day School holds a centennial tradition for academic excellence. It is bilingual and coeducational, offering a national and international curriculum for pupils aged 2 to 18 years old. Graduates obtain the University of Cambridge International Examination awards (IGCSE, AICE, AS and A levels) and the national Bilingual Baccalaureate. Throughout its history, the school has had a Catholic orientation and an ecumenical spirit of tolerance and integration. Participation in the monthly mass and catechesis sessions is optional. | History St. Catherine's School was founded in 1956 as a bilingual girls' school with 75 students and 10 teachers. In 1969, the St. Catherine's Club, a hockey club for current and former students, was established and the Tortuguitas campus grew around El Campito. From 1972 to 1976 the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme was introduced in Argentina, with 11 students taking the first examinations. Community The Belgrano Day School community draws pupils from a wide area of Buenos Aires, with the majority from Belgrano, Nuñez and Palermo. All pupils in primary, middle and senior levels belong to a house—North, South, East or West—and compete in internal events. The school employs over one hundred teachers and support staff from Argentina and abroad, many bilingual, with about fifty percent full time. Pupils of all religious beliefs are welcome; there is a Catholic orientation historically with optional Mass and catechesis; shared facilities include a library, dining-room, gymnasium, laboratories, auditorium, a music academy, a first aid centre, and a 20-hectare sports field in El Talar. | Community SCMS Club is the hockey club for students and alumnae, formed in 1969 by Mabel Mazzini and Juana Gradin. It established a Tortuguitas site around El Campito in 1971, and in 1994 inaugurated Argentina's first synthetic hockey field. Moorlands Club acquired civil association status in 1992 and has voting rights in the Argentine Amateur Hockey Association. Today the club has more than 400 registered girls and remains a central part of school life, with ongoing involvement from players, coaches and parents. |

Academic & intellectual Robotics is a pillar of Belgrano Day School's approach, developing computational thinking, problem solving, reading and understanding diagrams, experimentation and report writing, and collaborative, autonomous work. In P5 and P6, students are introduced to programming with a RobotGroup kit to build a car-robot and program it using Minibloq on an Arduino board; P6 students begin using sensors to measure distance, sound and light and incorporate kit components to build automata with MakeCode and Micro:bit. Younger students develop foundational computational thinking through mouse use, Typing games, and programmable robots such as Bee Bots, and use Code.org, Scratch JR, Scratch and Kodable. The program included visits to architecture and design studios, law and accounting firms, technology companies and universities, and collaborations with organizations such as Globant, JPS Argentina and Adidas. Admissions Interviews are requested by submitting the required information. The school has three levels of education: Kindergarten, Primary, and Middle & Senior. For each level, a policy document is available in Spanish: Kindergarten Policy (Spanish), Primary Policy (Spanish), and Middle & Senior Policy (Spanish). | Admissions The admission process begins with an online initial form. The form requests the following information: father and mother's names; profession and current workplace; alumni parent status (yes or no); siblings at the school; student's name and surname; birth place and date; country of origin of kindergarten/school student; year and form the student will attend; contact telephone numbers; email; address; one letter of reference; comments. A representative from the admissions department contacts parents to schedule an interview date and outlines the steps during the interview. Admission priority is given to siblings of students at the school and to children or grandchildren of former students, provided vacancies exist and all admission steps (appointments, entrance exams, and interviews with school counsellors) are completed. Admission calendar: from abroad, admissions are accepted year-round; within Argentina, Kindergarten and 1st form are accepted by July 31, and 2nd form through Senior School by October 31.
