Curriculum details
Curriculum details
Aster International School offers a British-style curriculum with an emphasis on real-world learning and student engagement. The early years program is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and focuses on communication, personal development, and basic skills through play.
In primary and lower secondary, Aster blends the English National Curriculum with project-based learning. Students explore core subjects like English, math, and science through interdisciplinary projects that also incorporate art, languages, and physical education. Specialist subjects include Mandarin, French, and Thai, with lessons adapted to student needs.
In the upper secondary years, students prepare for IGCSEs and A-Level examinations while also having the option to complete a high school diploma. Instruction becomes more focused on subject specialization, and students are encouraged to develop academic responsibility. Outside the classroom, Aster supports learning through enrichment clubs, sports, language classes, and Thai cultural activities.
Curriculum details
Bangkok International Preparatory & Secondary School (Bangkok Prep) follows the National Curriculum for England from Early Years through Sixth Form. In Early Years, children learn through the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, focusing on play-based and experiential learning. The Primary School (Years 1–6) builds on the English curriculum, developing core skills in literacy, numeracy, science, and the arts. In Secondary School (Years 7–9), students follow the Key Stage 3 curriculum before progressing to the Cambridge IGCSE programme in Years 10–11. The Sixth Form (Years 12–13) offers a choice between A Levels and BTEC vocational qualifications, providing both academic and applied learning pathways. Thai language is compulsory for Thai nationals, and World Languages are available for other students, with EAL support for those who need additional English assistance.
Aster approaches SEL through project‑based and experiential learning, enabling students to work in teams, present ideas, and solve real-world challenges. This method naturally builds emotional awareness, empathy, and collaboration.
Social & emotional learning
Bangkok Prep runs a Weekly Wellbeing Focus programme where topics such as “Asking for Support,” “Mind-Body Habits,” and “Positive Emotions” are addressed across the school community. Students are encouraged to use peer groups, teachers, and structured support networks as outlets for seeking help. The school promotes self-reflection, goal-setting, and strategies for building emotional resilience. Classroom discussions and form tutor sessions often integrate wellbeing themes to help students manage emotions and relationships. These initiatives aim to strengthen personal awareness and foster a supportive school culture.

SEN provision is designed to enable access to the mainstream curriculum and is not operated as a specialist SEN school. Support levels are tailored to individual student needs and reviewed periodically. The school’s fee schedule also includes defined charges for Learning Support tiers.

The school also runs thematic campaigns to help students recognise stress and develop coping strategies. These efforts aim to create a safe and open environment for mental health awareness across all year groups.
Safeguarding
Safeguarding
Aster International School’s safeguarding policy ensures that every child is protected and supported within a safe environment. The policy is based on Thai law and international child rights agreements. A designated committee oversees all safeguarding matters, and all staff are required to report concerns using official forms. Staff must follow clear rules for professional conduct, communication, and student interactions to prevent risks and maintain student safety.
The policy outlines how to respond to student disclosures with care, and emphasizes confidentiality during investigations. All school staff undergo background checks and child protection screenings during hiring. The policy also defines types of abuse and helps staff recognize warning signs. Clear procedures are in place to ensure concerns are reported, investigated, and handled appropriately.
Safeguarding
Bangkok Prep follows a formal Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy aligned with the Thai Child Protection Act and international standards. The policy outlines procedures for prevention, reporting, and response to any safeguarding concerns.
