Language provision
|
Language provision The official instruction language in all grades is American English, with modern language classes in Greek, French, German, Chinese, Spanish, etc. English language support classes are available from 1st grade. ESL placement uses CEFR and WIDA, with standardized testing administered twice a year to document growth. | Language provision The school uses the National Curriculum of England & Wales as its guiding framework, augmented by the International Curriculum Association's IEYC, IPC, and IMYC curricula. Greek language lessons are provided daily, and the Greek Language Curriculum is followed by local language teachers; Greek language study is part of the daily program, with an optional after-school class. An English Language Learner (ELL) program supports students who do not have grade-level English proficiency, with either integration into the classroom under ELL support or a pull-out ELL class. Students who master Greek have the opportunity to take part in Greek Language Proficiency Exams. |
